Deliberations on progress report of all the Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and Farm Advisory Service Centres (FASCs) were held during the meeting of Extension Council chaired by the Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). Hailing the farmers’-scientists’ exemplary linkage, Dr Gosal called upon the extension scientists to accelerate their efforts to provide timely solutions to the farmers’ field problems, enhance their income and sustain agriculture. Stating that the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of PAU were in full swing, he said that farmer and farming have been priorities for PAU since inception and earnest efforts should be made to make farmers’ lives and agriculture productive, profitable and prosperous. Dr Ashok Kumar, Director of Extension Education, also applauded the strenuous efforts made by the field level functionaries during corona and urged them to remain committed to their mission – farmers’ welfare. Dr AS Dhatt, Director of Research, discussed off season management of cotton sticks for pink boll worm and paddy straw management. Dr GS Buttar, Additional Director of Extension Education, presented the salient extension achievements made during April to September 2022 and action taken report of the proceedings of 19th meeting of Extension Council. Dr GPS Sodhi, Additional Director of Extension Education, proposed a vote of thanks. Present on the occasion were scientists from Directorate of Extension Education, KVKs and FASCs, district extension specialists and heads of the departments of PAU.
