Nijjar & Jimpa launch anti smog guns to curb dust pollution in Ludhiana Dedicate single window system and digital help kiosk to prompt services to people In order to combat dust pollution in the Ludhiana, Punjab Local Bodies Minister Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar and Revenue Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa on Friday flagged off seven e-rickshaw mounted anti-smog guns which spray atomized water (tiny droplets of water) up to a height of 100 metres, creating artificial mist to bring down air-borne pollutants. These anti-smog guns have been purchased at the cost of Rs 1.5 crore. These will help the MC to reduce air pollution during days of Diwali, harvesting of Paddy and wheat. Besides, the Cabinet Ministers also dedicated single window system and digital self-help kiosk to ensure prompt delivery of MC services to the people with ease. They said that under single window system, common counters have been set up in all MC offices where the people can avail various MC services from one counter eliminating unnecessary harassment and time wastage of the people in getting their works done from seperate counters. They said that the procedure had been simplified for every service through the single window system and added as they would not have to go from one branch to the other counter thus ensuring time bound completion. Later, Dr Nijjar also asked the MC Commissioner Dr Shena Aggarwal to improve the reception area in MC offices so that people could feel better during visit. Prominent amongst present on the occasion included MLAs Madan Lal Bagga, Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina, Daljit Singh Grewal and Kulwant Singh Sidhu, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, MC Additional Commissioner Aditya Dachalwal, Joint Commissioner Jasdev Singh Sekhon and others.
