In the wake of November being celebrated as Punjabi month, the Department of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organised a programme at Senior Secondary Government School, Pakhowal, to mark the importance of Punjabi language speaking state. Dr Kuldeep Singh, Head of the department, motivated the school students to speak Punjabi and feel proud to be Punjabi. Dr Lakhwinder Kaur, mentor of RAWE students of PAU, advised the students to respect their mother tongue, teachers as well as parents who shape their personality and help them to shine like a star. The RAWE students Lovekaran Singh and Simarjit Kaur also delivered lectures on importance of Punjabi language. Besides, Smt Kanwalpreet Kaur shared her views during the programme. Smt Neetu Sood, Principal of the school, appreciated the efforts of RAWE students. On the occasion, competition in creative writing in Punjabi was conducted for the school students and prizes in the form of Punjabi alphabet slates were distributed to the winners.
