REMINISCENCES AND RECOLLECTIONS AT PAU’s AGRI-ENGINEERING ALUMNI MEET
Nov27,2022 | NARINDER KUMAR |Alumni from India and other countries shared their bonhomie, reminiscences and sweet recollections during the Alumni Meet ‘MOMENTS 2022’ of the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (COAET) at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). On the occasion, outstanding Alumni Award was bestowed upon Er Kaushal Kishore Jha, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, Government of Nepal. Going down the memory lane, Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, lauded the current executive for setting up an Alumni Relations Centre, thus, helping to develop a robust network of alumni across the world and function as a liaison between the current students and the alumni community, as well as facilitate an exchange of resources, opportunities and extension of mentorship. Emphasizing on regular interactions among the alumni, students and faculty for professional development, Dr Gosal congratulated the faculty of the College for organising a colourful event and the alumni members for making excellent contributions to the profession of agricultural engineering. Dr Ashok Kumar, Chief Patron of Alumni Association and Dean of the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, apprised the gathering of the achievements and stellar strides made by the COAET in diverse arenas. Dr Satish Kumar Gupta, President of Alumni Association of COAET, shared the initiatives taken by the Alumni Association for rendering financial support for the professional development of the current students and extended acknowledgements to the alumni for the same. Dr Preetinder Kaur, Chief Editor of Alumni Association newsletter, got the Agrineer newsletter released on the occasion. Dr Vishal Bector, Incharge, Training Unit and Industrial Linkages, coordinated and conducted the programme. Earlier, Dr Samanpreet Kaur, Secretary, welcomed the dignitaries, faculty, students and alumni of the College. The event was graced by three former Deans of the College, former heads, retirees and around 250 alumni, accompanied by their family members. During the meet, various awards and fellowships, instituted by the Alumni Association, were presented to the students for excelling in academics, sports and extra- curricular activities (Best folk singer - male and female). A batch of 1972 alumni, which celebrated its Golden Jubilee, thronged the meet with their families and won the running trophy for maximum participation. They also contributed Rs 3.01 lakh to the Alumni Association. In addition, a batch of 1997 alumni also celebrated its Silver Jubilee and contributed Rs 2.25 lakh to the Alumni Association. Photo booth corner, fun games and activities, and cultural evening presenting lively and mesmerising performances by students and alumni, were hits of the day. With Warm Regards,
